About our Local Market Data

Starting with April 2026 data, the numbers in your KCM Local Market reports are changing, and we think the change is worth explaining.

Until now, our market metrics came from pre-calculated statistics published by Realtor.com and Altos Research. We received the final numbers and passed them along. We had no way to check how they were calculated or catch problems before they reached you.

Beginning in April 2026, we build every number ourselves, starting from individual property listings provided by Altos Research. That means we can verify the data at each step before it ever appears in your report. If something looks off, we catch it before you see it.

The metrics themselves measure the same things they always have. What is different is that we now control the process from start to finish, and we review the numbers every month before they go live.
